Introduction

My name is Hester Boersma, and in addition to being a PRI therapist, I am also a psychologist, body-oriented psychotherapist, and lecturer in developmental psychology.

My interest in the human psyche began at a young age. As a small child, I was insecure and afraid, but also wondered why my family members behaved the way they did. Unfortunately, that wonder didn't get me very far, but the fear grew into a social phobia that lasted for years. And in that fear, my self-image crumbled further every year. That was a very desperate time in my life. Eventually, with the help of PRI, I was increasingly able to connect with others without fear. And that has been able to continue into a healthy relationship with fear and human contact.

Meanwhile, I see humans as incredibly powerful beings. As small children, we are already equipped, skillful, and powerful in survival. And although we can suffer enormously from this in our adult lives, there is enormous potential in everyone to heal and live in connection and flow. Close to yourself and in connection with the world around us.

I gladly welcome you with every emotion, every behavior pattern, or every conviction that you feel is not good for you. What you suffer from and what you want to change. I will look with you at the origin of your complaints, help you give the pain beneath the complaint a place, and help you to develop what has been hampered by trauma. I work with PRI in this, and for those who find it helpful, I support this with body-oriented techniques from Somatic Experience, Bodynamics, and Integral Somatic Psychotherapy.
