Stress and Burnout

It seems as if a burnout happens to you overnight. You feel physically and mentally exhausted and literally can't get up and go to work anymore.

Earlier signals ignored

In reality, you have been unconsciously depleting your energy supply for quite some time without replenishing it.

A burnout is often related to persistent work stress, but it can also occur with other persistent stress, such as illness or death of a loved one, or persistent financial worries.

There is great physical fatigue. Your body first needs a lot of rest and relaxation to recover.

Prevent a relapse

In addition to the physical recovery from a burnout, it is essential – to prevent a relapse in the future – to gain control over your behavior with the help of PRI, which is what caused you to end up in the burnout.

Always being busy, taking care of others, or working too hard has a specific function. The reason you try so hard is that you believe somewhere deep down that if you don't, things will go wrong.

About liberation from the maze of destructive emotions

How can PRI help with stress and burnout?

First, you and your therapist will draw up a plan to ensure that your energy supply can build up again in a healthy way.

Once that bears its first fruits, PRI will help you recognize which situations in your daily life cause you to work so hard, do your best, and keep going even though you are actually tired. Then you will discover which old, repressed painful feelings underlie this.

In doing so, you gradually detach your past from the present. You will be better able to feel your own boundaries and act accordingly. In this way, you will gradually recover physically from your burnout and gain more control over your life.
