TEDx Findhorn with Ingeborg Bosch

On February 2, 2018, Ingeborg Bosch gave her first TEDx Talk in Findhorn, Scotland, entitled “Who am I? PRI: the laser path for reconnecting to self and others.” Ingeborg explains how she developed PRI as a result of the burnout she experienced herself in 1994. It came as a complete surprise to her, because she had a good job, a good relationship, and a lovely 1-year-old son. What on earth was wrong with her? Burnout was not so well known at that time, so Ingeborg went in search of how she could free herself from these horrible feelings.

Three important discoveries

She made three important discoveries. The first was that she was not the only one. Each year, approximately one in three Europeans suffers from burnout. How is this possible with all the amenities and prosperity we have?!

The answer to this question came from the second discovery: most emotional and mental suffering, and even physical illnesses, are linked to negative experiences from childhood. In everyone. Even if the childhood has been ‘normal’, there have been experiences that we, as small and vulnerable as we were, could not process. This happens to everyone, no matter how much parents love their children. And these experiences are stored in our bodies and brains. A science that, despite all the evidence, is still too little used in healthcare.

So, if we all walk around with traumas, is the solution then that we are all going to bring them up? No. The third discovery Ingeborg made was that our early childhood determines our view of the world. We put on glasses, as it were, and continue to look through these glasses for the rest of our lives and react to what we think we see. Even if that is no longer the case at all. A child who grows up in a hostile environment still looks through these glasses as an adult and experiences a hostile world. And will also react to the world as such and thereby confirm his image. Unconsciously, his complaints continue to exist in this way.

Recovery is possible with PRI

What helps us to recover? Two points are of great importance here. First, by discovering that we perceive everything in the present through those glasses colored by our past. A big step, because we then let go of the conviction that what we perceive now is correct. Then we can learn to take off these glasses and stop automatically and structurally reacting as if we still live in the past. To then really be open to the present! It is a path that requires courage, but it is possible to take off those glasses if you have been able to feel what it was like to really live in that world as a child. And that makes a huge difference in your life now. For yourself, your children and the world around you.

Experience PRI yourself

Ingeborg concludes her talk with a real-life experience of PRI, in which you as a viewer discover your own glasses and can experience how they color your world.
